Center of Islamic Management and Halal Industry (CIMHI) was established in December 2020 as a research unit of the Universitas Medan Area (UMA) with the aim to foster a strong foundation of Islamic Management and enhancing Halal Industry in helping of developing regional Islamic economy as well as to the betterment of the society. CIMHI was also appointed by Komite Nasional Ekonomi dan Keuangan Syariah (KNEKS) as a center of excellence for Islamic Business and Entrepreneurship that relates to the Halal Industry. To these ends, the CIMHI individually and in partnership with other institutions will focus on the areas of education, consultations and training.
